Program:

• Annual Tuber Sale | Buy tubers that are heat tolerant from local growers
  • New members since the 2024 tuber sale will receive $10 in Dahlia Bucks
  • We accept checks, cash, and Zelle for payment
  • New rules will be in place:
    • Buyers will be limited on the number and type of tubers which can be selected on each "trip".
    • We have a round robin event where everyone gets multiple times to select tubers.
    • New members go first, current members go next and non-members last.  This rotation will continue until all tubers are gone.
  • ​​​​​​​The name, picture, and price of the tuber will be on each bag.

• Group discussion of common pests and treatments

Program:

• Mini Show
  • In preparation for the ADS show in September we want to acquaint members with the ADS Classification Handbook, staging dahlia blooms for showing, and filling out exhibitor cards for each entry.
  • Our "mini show" judges will explain what they look for when judging an ADS show.
• Activity: 
  • For maximum fun and low risk learning, please bring a "bucket" of 3-6 of your dahlia blooms to "stage".
    • HINT: Cut your blooms long enough to leave 1-2 sets of leaves on the stem.
  • More experienced members will assist you with staging so there is no risk in trying this out.
  • The DSG will provide containers, tags, and tools for staging.

      • 7:00am -  9:00am  - Staging Blooms
      • 9:00am - 12:30am - Judging
    • Sunday, September 28th
      • 10:00am - 3:00pm - Open to the public
      • Closing at 3:00pm, then take down the show
